Artist - Elena Raluca Conjocaru

You are the founder of a retreat community called 'YouArtCollective,' which uses art to play, create, connect, and transform. As the founder of a community-based art retreat in Bali, what aspects of this project bring you the most joy, and how do you see it evolving in the future? The most joyful aspect for me is seeing people grow, evolve, and be themselves. It is a never-ending process of self-work. I know that in Bali there are many workshops and activities that involve creativity, but our workshops are not only creative and fun; they mostly focus on personal development. We provide a safe space where you can take your time to look within yourself and explore who you truly are. I am looking forward to the time after I give birth, when I can return to this experience, which can only be found in our workshops. Until then, I am working remotely on some online courses that are about to be released.     You experienced a traffic accident last year, and I've seen your incredible vitality and resilience ever since. How has surviving a life-threatening motorcycle accident influenced your perspective on life and your work? I've always been very positive. I had a hematoma in my brain, and all the ribs on the left side of my back were broken. When I woke up from my coma, I couldn't speak at all because certain neural pathways had been destroyed, and I had to relearn many things: talking, walking, eating.I stayed positive, and thanks to that, I am who I am today. This experience slowed me down from the life I used to have. I feel supported by my friends and family, who provide me with a safe space where I can learn, heal, and grow. I hope to offer the same space for my clients through my workshops.                                                                         How do you integrate sustainable practices into your daily life and business, and why do you think it's important for both individuals and companies to prioritize sustainability?  I think sustainability is very important. Whenever I go shopping, I try to be a more conscious buyer. I avoid using plastic and choose stores that focus on sustainability. One of my favorites is the SageImber shop. They have an amazing dress called the Gingham Jumper, made from hemp. It's the perfect weight, sustainable, strong, and effortless. It's one of my favorite dresses to wear these days.                     How would you describe your own personal dress aesthetic? I wear everything. I like colorful stuff. It depends on my mood. I wear whatever I feel like in the moment. I also love accessories like hats and socks in different colors—it really depends on how I wake up each day.                   When do you feel the happiest, and what is your dream for the future? I feel the happiest when I'm with my friends and family, or whenever I can help others in need and offer them support. I hope to help people become more conscious, more authentic, and guide them on their personal journeys.

Mahina Alexander

Mahina Alexander "A shadow is nothing more than proof of light”  Mahina: i’m grateful to be working with brands like Sage Imber that inspire change and encourage us to have a more expanded awareness about what we consume.  one of my main goals is to be in right relationship with all of life. to consciously coexist. this is a practice that is mastered over time and requires just as much unlearning as learning. over the past few years i have changed and grown so much and have cleared out my closet several times only keeping what brings me joy just like marie kando teaches and releasing my attachment to possessing material things as some form of comfort  i use to buy a lot of cheaply made fast fashion clothing that never seemed to last. now i invest in staple pieces that will last a lifetime and are created sustainably or i thrift for vintage.  i have more of a film photo mentality about it all now. like when you only have 30 shots in a roll and so each one is carefully felt into and it shows in the final result… if i don’t love it with every fiber of my being, “it’s a no from me dawg.”  truth is, we don’t need as much as we think we do. everything that makes me feel truly amazing is an experience that i have with people i love and now that i practice prioritizing that i don’t feel an obsession to buy so many things because i feel truly fulfilled  style is such a fun way to express the way i feel inside and it feels so much better supporting artists who put our planet first. my closet and heart feel so much lighter.
